About

Rochelle and her Great Dane, Omega

Hi, I'm Rochelle.

Born in 1993, I dabbled in various artforms throughout my childhood and teenage years, and as an adult my preferred mediums are graphite and colour pencils, oil painting (and a growing interest in other painting mediums), and digital art.

I developed an interest in tattooing as a teen and decided that's what I wanted to pursue. There was no backup plan - it would either work out, or it wouldn't. That interest led to my apprenticeship starting in 2012, I was tattooing by 2013, and became qualified at the end of 2015.

In the early years of my career I got to work in a range of different styles, and since then most of my career has been focused on realism and linework/stipple. More recently, I've felt a strong pull towards illustrative and neo trad, which is why my premade designs are in this style. You can explore my portfolio to see a highlight of the styles I love working in most.

I've always been happy to work with both smaller single-session pieces and larger multi-session projects (e.g. full legs, backs, arms) in either black & grey or colour, and there's a wide range of subject matter and themes I love to tattoo.

The older I get, the more I crave balance in life - whether that be creating art for myself, spending time with my husband, James, and our Great Dane, Omega, or pursuing my own hobbies. I'm most drawn to things that allow me to turn off my phone and get out of my own head, especially if it means being outdoors - snowboarding, travelling (especially New Zealand), hiking, etc. Ultimately, having that balance lets me create better tattoos and give my clients a better experience.

Some other things that may be helpful to know about me:

  • I got diagnosed with ADHD and ASD in early 2025

  • I struggle with imposter syndrome and impossibly high standards

  • I speak softly and am quite blunt, and my face has a bad case of RBF (especially when I'm concentrating)

  • Although my tattoos are mostly covered up, I have my chest (first tattoo), sternum, most of my left leg, right ankle, a tiny piece on my right thigh (my first practice tattoo back in 2012), outer right upper arm, my upper back and neck, and a tiny one on my hip. Do my tattoos mean anything? No. Do I plan to get more? Yes.
